Great Sadness

Unbelievable tragedy in our country. I have been glued to the television each night when I come home, as I am sure many others have been.

It's strangely fascinating to consider how much we have in this country, how advanced of a society we are, yet we aren't prepared for something like this. It is unimaginable how long it will take to recover from this.

One story of many that I have heard, really gripped me and brought tears to my eyes. This was of a husband who lost his wife.

If you can, please help out somehow, maybe through the American Red Cross.

Soothsayer Eisenhower

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

-President Dwight D. Eisenhower, l952

Sad News

The news was just released that Peter Jennings died tonight of lung cancer. It's such an odd thing...he is someone I never knew personally, but I feel a sadness over his death.
