Ryan and I decided that this was the year to decorate our 20 feet tall Blue Spruce evergreen. So, one weekend about two weeks ago we purchased 7 boxes of LED multi-colored lights, an extension pole, and went around the tree wrapping it in lovely bright lights. We were so proud of our accomplishment and amazed at how easy it was considering the size of the tree.
It's been a few weeks now and we've certainly enjoyed the tree and apparently others have too. Two weekends ago I was in the Midway post office and was stopped by one of my neighbors saying, "your tree is the talk of the town!" I was quite surprised and ran home to tell Ryan the funny story, thinking that was it. Little did I know there was more to come.
Last week, I was at school late with the WH choir for the middle school chorus concert. I called Ryan on my way home and he said there was a surprise waiting for me. Unsure if this was to be something good or a "surprise" left by Cosmo, I didn't know what to expect. When I got home, I walked into the house and lying on our kitchen counter was the picture you see above. Yes, not only was our tree the talk of the town, but it also won the Midway Women's Club "Best Outdoor Tree" award! I just squealed with laughter (and yes, Ryan was pretty proud)!
