So Cool!

Tonight after my Verdi rehearsal I stopped by IUS where Mom and Dad were at the observatory looking at the planets. These past few day five planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn) were all visible with the naked eye in the night sky. We were able to view the planets and the moon through their telescopes. Jupiter and Saturn were unbelievable! With Jupiter you could see four moons around it and two red rings across the planet. With Saturn it looked almost unreal because it was so clear the sphere with the rings, plus its moons. It is such an amazing experience to look at these planets that are so far away. Wow!

  1. Are you serious?? Do you know how long they are going to stay that way, cause I love astronomy. (just not the math part...which i suppose is 75 percent of astronomy.) So what I meant to say was...I love planets and stars! (said in a hick accent)
    Love you,

  2. Kirsten, I think it may be over. It started around March 22 and lasted for about two weeks. We caught the tail end of it. In an article I read, it states that the five will be in the early morning sky again in late December 2004 and early January 2005. Hope you catch it then.
